We employ an experienced team of psychiatrists, licensed professional counselors, licensed social workers, and provisionally licensed counselors.
Foundations for Change was created by three clinicians who met while working in residential treatment for adolescents with complex emotional and behavioral needs. Frustrated by the limitations of agency work, Dana, Sara, and Alexandria set out to build something different: a St. Louis-based therapy practice rooted in flexibility, community engagement, and clinical excellence.
Early on, they partnered with the St. Louis County Family Courts to provide counseling for youth in juvenile detention, and forged connections with local schools, healthcare providers, and organizations like the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, Matthews-Dickey, and CWIT. From in-home visits to school-based services, they brought mental health support directly to underserved communities.
Today, Foundations for Change has two locations to serve the St. Louis area, with over 20 therapists and a psychiatrist on staff. We offer individual, family, and adolescent therapy, trauma recovery, LGBTQ+ affirming counseling, and more — always in a welcoming, inclusive environment. We also help shape the future of the field by supervising and mentoring emerging clinicians. Whether you're looking for therapy in St. Louis for yourself or a loved one, we’re here to help you build a strong foundation for change.
